Linsey Hall has been an acclaimed queen of the fantasy and the paranormal genre for a very long time. She perfectly executes her characters and their subsequent plans of action. In this novel, we find the female protagonist Eve becoming the most badass version of herself. Eve gets tangled up with the Shifter Guild’s Alpha, Lachlan, when she is accused of a heinous crime. Like all of Hall’s heroine’s, Eve carries a secret from a past she wishes to keep hidden. Eve and Lachlan have their own problems but those problems are intertwined and they must work together to solve the crimes while also confronting their unpleasant past/s. The book is a quick and extremely enjoyable read full of magic, mystery and a little side touch of slow-burn chemistry as Eve is trying to master the art of potions.
